![]() It worked perfectly!!!! If these guys were in it for the money they could have worked with me to get me a full new set of irons, which I would have been willing to do. I was prepared to spend several hundred dollars to get this figured out, but Jordan (I think) saw how much I loved the feel of my Irons, and recommended a solution that would only cost me $15. My gaps are now all in the 10-12 yard range. The tech (I think Jordan was his name) suggested we try strengthening the loft by 2 degrees on the 8,9,PW, to compensate for the whip that was caused by the not-stiff-enough shaft. I was leaning toward reshafting, because I LOVE the feel of my irons. When I walked in I had planned on one of three things: trading in the full set and buying a new one trading in the short irons for blades so they wouldnt launch so high or reshafting all the irons. It was causing too much whip on my short irons. Turns out, I needed to be fit for xflex shaft, but Man O War had fit me for stiff. They spent 45 minutes with me looking into everything. ![]() I went to Edwin Watts, despite having been fit for these irons at Man O War. I was carrying my 7 iron 170, and my 8 iron 145. The long iron gaps were great, but for some reason there was a huge drop in carry between 7 and 8 irons. I walkout out that day with the custom fit 3 wood, and we bent the lie angle -2 degrees and I walked out with a new driving iron.Ī few months later I was a bit frustrated with my Irons. When the clubs came in, he called me and we tested them out. He ordered 4 clubs for me to test out in my custom fit specs, FREE OF CHARGE. I had never even considered a driving iron before. John took a look at the data, and recommended two 3 woods to try out, and recommended I net get a 5 wood, but get a driving iron. The results were so good I went back to get fit for a 3 and 5 wood so get more results. John fitted me for a driver, which was the same head, but a different shaft then what Man O War had recommended, and the results were about 600 RPM less spin, and about 9 yards more carry!!!! So left and went to Edwin Watts Golf on Richmond Road. I had a different fitter, but got the same experience. I thought it was just a one off, so I went and got fitted for a driver at Man O War. ![]() I didnt feel like the fitter was involved, didnt feel like they communicated their thoughts with me, and didnt feel like they were willing to work with me and make recommendations. The sort of it is that this is the place to go and get your clubs! I got fitted for Irons at Man O War golf, and they experience was.corporate.
